The Internet is Full of Lies...
Those who are outraged by outrage culture are usually the most outraged by things.
Boba Fett's starship is been called "Slave-1." That's certainly a name that upsets some people. And the idea that things get renamed to stop people getting upset upsets a completely different set of people.
So when Boba Fett called his ship his "Firespray Gunship," the anti-social justice crowd were quick to attack Disney for "yet another" politically correct attempt to rape their childhood.
But, of course, they're wrong. Fett didn't call it "the Firespray Gunship," but rather he said to Fennec Shand:
I want you to help me. Help me recover my Firespray gunship.
His Firespray gunship. He is using the name of the model of starship, not renaming the ship.
The makers of "The Mandaloran" and "The Book of Boba Fett" love their deep cut references to Star Wars lore. Heck, the even included two characters in a previous Fett episode from unused Star Wars (A New Hope) footage. This is the sort of reference they (and a lot of the fans) love.
Rather than destroying The Lore of Star Wars, they are homaging it.
